Description
This example shows a main dashboard screen with summarized information retrieved from a number of different modules (here: General Ledger, Sales Order Processing, and Accounts Receivables) in the accounting system. In the lower right hand corner you see an example of a “sub-dashboard” focus on the information in a particular accounting system module (here: Sales Order Processing). Drill-down to the detailed dashboard is achieved with the click of a button and the same with drill-up to the main dashboard.
Management Value
Typically, much of a company's key financial information is stored in the accounting (ERP) system, but usually the analysis and presentation tools for upper management is not enough to satisfy all needs. Creating a high level dashboard that pulls the most important information from each ERP module is thus a great way to give management a user-friendly way to see the “big picture”. Additional dashboards (like the sales dashboard on top of the main dashboard in the example above) linked to each section of the main dashboard provides additional view into detail while still offering all the benefits of the dashboard user interface.
