Standard Budgeting Module
The Standard Budgeting Module works with the Report Writer Module of XL Reporter to offer all of the benefits of Excel for the Budget process without the cumbersomeness of it. Best of all, the same tool that generates your budget and forecast templates are also used for all of your reporting (financial, budgets and forecasts, operational, etc).

The Standard Budgeting Module offers:
- A template driven system so that budget templates are automatically updated and dynamically generated for future budget cycles. No manual import/export from Dynamics
- Direct write-back of budgets/forecasts to the budget tables (in the GL tables) in the Dynamics SQL database
- Business logic (i.e. Department, Account, Period, etc) is encapsulated within each Budget Input Cell so that budgets are always written back correctly
- Budget Managers can write-back their own budgets (without using up a user license of Dynamics GP)
- Built-in spreading tool (with two different spreading methods)
Budgeting with the Standard Budgeting Module, all the benefits of regular excel and more!
You'll have your Budgets and Forecasts in regular Excel but you'll also have the floating toolbar of the Standard Budgeting Module for both direct write-back to the Budget tables in your GL and for a spreading tool with 2 different spreading methods.
Business logic (i.e. Department, Account, Period, etc) is encapsulated within each Budget Input Cell so that budgets are always written back correctly. With the Standard Budgeting module you have all the benefits of Excel without the errors and the manual cumbersomeness of Excel.
